Since the 19th century, the Hôtel de France has been conceived as an invitation to the countryside. Ideally located two hours from Paris, at the gateway to Champagne and Burgundy, this unusual and historic guesthouse is part of a tradition of hospitality and refinement.

The hotel was built in the heart of the green village of Cunfin, at the same time as the railway line, with the aim of improving the living conditions of the rural world and bringing it out of isolation.

A royal road for the Impressionists: Reconnecting with nature and its fragmented light. The illustrious Renoir set up his studio there in Essoyes from 1888 to 1919.

Our bedrooms, lounges and reception rooms open onto a vast wooded park, cradled by the Landion River, where gardens and vegetable patches stand alongside local apple trees bordered by English roses.

The Hôtel de France also boasts a vast 4,000 m² estate: the hotel and its park to enjoy its shaded nooks, a village house located a 2-minute walk away and its private garden that can accommodate up to 3 people.

Authenticity is at the heart of our cuisine. Breakfast showcases local products: mature cheeses, yogurts, homemade jams, honey harvested nearby, accompanied by pastries and freshly squeezed fruit juices.

For dinner, upon request, our table d'hôtes offers gourmet and authentic cuisine, showcasing the finest local produce. A refrigerator, microwave, and tableware are available for guests who prefer more autonomy. We can accommodate your dietary needs upon request.
